Fasting
Plasma (preferably heparinized tube, but all coagulants can be used)
Serum (avoid haemolysis)

0.5 ml of serum or plasma for a vitamin
1.0 ml of serum or plasma for 2-5 vitamins.

Unbreakable tubes with watertight closures
Protect from light (vitamin A, carotenes, E, D, K and B2)
Name of patient, attending physician and date of collection
Please attach the order form duly and legibly filled in

SHIPPING

Immediately send the sample to the Institute or freeze the sample at -20 to – 80 ° C and ship it in a refrigerated packaging. Vitamin C: ship the sample frozen at -20 to – 80°C.

The SVI clinical trial [1] allowed the calculation of the Swiss reference intrevals of vitamins based on the analytical methods of the SVI (HPLC, chemical and microbiological) and according to the international clinical recommendations [2]. Note that for vitamins D, K and B12 the measurements are still in progress.
